Fruity

I have absolutely no clue how I came down this path, but I have taken a turn through an orchard. I saw this wreath and fell in love.

ClockWinder
I don't know how I got focused on these fruity delights, but here they are. I was actually going to follow suit with the others and find some really cool storage ideas, like this tin

Then I saw some other cool fruit inspired kitchen things, like this red basket

Just think of the awesome drinks you could serve in these glasses;

vintagenowandthen
Of course you would need an equally amazing pitcher to fill the glasses

A nice towel would be handy to have nearby

but wait...I found another item you can set on your table
CluttersCurios

or hang on your walls...

You would also need a nice colorful bracelet to add to the fun

and finally.....one would just have to have this hat, it may not be as big as Carmen Miranda's, but I think it is just perfect.

Like I said, somewhere I took a left turn when I should have taken a right, but I am happy with the cool items I found. These days I find it easier to just go with the flow and if it is a little fruity, so be it.

Get Organized Around the House!

Last week VS did a blog post on ways to store and organize our Christmas and Holiday items.

Well...that led me to wonder about ways to store and organize items in our home or office....I am a lover of vintage, especially vintage metal items....like galvanized metal and tin..(be still my ♥)!

Since I have a shop on Etsy, that seemed like the first place to look...amongst all the wonderful vintage and antique shops there...
WooHoo...I had so much fun!  Here are a few of the useful and unique items I found....*repurposing a vintage or antique item is one of the best ways to keep our landfills emptier*.

              Trinket Box or Storage Box
This little box would be useful in so many ways....in the office, studio, bath, bedroom, man cave.....I love it!

And look at this "Key Stop" piece....Hang it up on the wall...put some magnetic hooks on it and you will never again wonder "Now where did I put my keys????)

                              Key Stop
Another plus is how clever your friends and family will think you are!

                            Washboard

Speaking of magnets (and we were...sort of..) this old washboard would make a great bulletin board...using some clever magnets to hold the messages, they could even be message magnets...(get it?)  LOL!  (sorry, could not resist that one)

            Antique Receipts File Board

This antique receipts board would make another super message board, or a reminder board...not that any of us need a place to put "reminders"!  But just in case this would be perfect!

Are you wondering where to store all those little small things, those "things" we can't live without but can never "remember" where we put them???  How about this cabinet??? Just look at all those drawers....you could hang a cute little tag from each drawer that would tell you what is stored inside :)

       Metal Divided Storage Box

Seems to me the divided storage would be very useful in a studio also....here's another divided box that makes a great storage/organizer...

                    Divided Metal Box
I think this smaller size box would work great in a sewing area or room....hmmmm....

                Tin Handled Basket

Do you need something that you can carry from room to room?  These metal baskets with handles may be just what you are looking for...

                Galvanized Jar Tray

I think a gardener would love the jar tray....for new plantings, tools, or full of beautiful cuttings from the garden...what a fantastic spring look that would be for your special place....(don't get discouraged, Spring will be here in a couple of months!).

Just click on the name below each photo to be taken to the item in the shop....

I hope these have given you lots of great ideas to organize and brighten your home, office or studio....and encouraged you to "GET STARTED!"....

WIRED....THE VINTAGE WAY!

I know there are many meanings for the word "wired" in our world today, however I like the vintage kind of "wired" best!

                               FLOWER FROG

Just look at this wonderful old flower frog!  Perfect for holding office pens, art brushes, makeup brushes...or flowers.

                                Wire Basket

Can you just picture this basket with little bottles, each holding a single flower....or filled with small towels in a bath, cloth napkins at an outdoor dinner...or?

                             Antique French Wire Church

I love this old wire church or school sculpture, what a great item to decorate around...

                                Wire Egg Basket

I know this is for eggs, and that would look great...but imagine it filled with old spheres...croquet balls,  glass floats, or grundgy baseballs...how fun would that be?

                          Wire In and Out Basket

I have several of these old wire office baskets...I use them to store all kinds of items, even paper!

Just click on the name beneath each photo to be taken to the item and the shop it can be purchased from....

Where do I Store My Stuff!!!!

One of the problems any seller or collector has is how to store the stuff we are selling or the items we don't want to display.

At our home we love vintage and antique items so over the years we have repurposed some vintage items and now they are our "hidden" storage :)

We love old Hartman suitcases....I use them stacked in my office to store the items I have listed for sale...the tag on the front of each suitcase tells me what is inside it...since I can never remember where each item is!

VintageStation did 2 treasuries full of vintage luggage, all of which is for sale and could soon be your hidden storage area...

                   Suitcases

I am also a collector of fabric...but where to put it all until I use it????  An old rack full of gym baskets was our solution...each basket labeled as to contents....

Peppercorns2 did a great blog article on vintage wire baskets...check it out...you will find some great ones!

 Vintage Wire Baskets

Another hidden storage in our home is old tool boxes, big ones....we love these because they work wonderfully well as coffee and end tables while hiding all our magazines and books.....

Here are some storage ideas I found on Etsy :)

                                                                                                      DailyMemorandum

What ever your storage needs I hope these suggestions start you thinking of unique solutions just for you!

The Magnificent Vintage Wire Basket

I adore all things vintage but have a real love of the vintage wire basket. These wonderful treasures seem to have endless uses and fit into all types of decor. They are used in living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, offices, craft rooms, garages, and I've even seen an old gym basket used in the trunk of a car. In fact, I'm thinking of getting one for the trunk of my car to hold the water bottles when I refill them. (In Nevada water bottles hold a sacred place in our lives. LOL)

A few years ago my father gave me a wonderful old white chippy paint egg basket that I use in my living room. I've also used it several times as a prop for my photographs of product on Etsy.

Happy collecting. Pepper/Helmet Head
