Some libraries were magnificent buildings and others were very humble. The large cities constructed huge, impressive libraries while the smaller communities used whatever buildings were available.

I'm sorry to say this is not one of them. It was built in 1858 but was demolished to build a new one around 1895.

I too love the old Libraries, the new digital "stuff" just does not create the correct ambiance!
Kindle's will never replace actual books in my world....LOL!
Great pictures of old Libraries. Our library in town has also evolved over the years. It is amazing to think back and remember how tiny it was when I first started going to it.
