For our East Coast Friends

Summer Blues

Well, we’re coming to the end of August and the signs of summers end are here.  Kids are heading back to school.  Daily summer routines are adjusting to the kids getting back to school.  Teachers have been getting their rooms ready.  More steady traffic on the highways.  Ah yes, the summer is coming to a close.  In honor of this, I’ve created another Etsy treasury to share my thoughts.  I just couldn’t resist. So go grab your coffee and bagel, get comfy and click each photo to go visit the shops and look around.  Hope you enjoy!

Have a great weekend!  And thanks for stopping by.

Coming Home

LyndaNaranjo

A couple of weeks ago my husband made an emergency trip to Italy to be with his mom.

She lives in the states most of the time but still has a house and a piece of property over in Italy. Anyway, she was having some health problems and my husband was able to go and be with her. As it turns out things are ok with her and she decided to come home with him… (yay!)

So now they are home safe and sound.

I did a search for coming home and these are some items that came up, both vintage and handmade. It was fun to see some different interpretations for “coming home”. There were a lot of things for bringing newborns home, and as sweet as they are I was looking for something a little different.

They say home is where the heart is, or home is where you hang your hat,

or as a friend posted, home is whenever I’m with you.

You can feel at home when you see warm glowing lights.

I think one of the sweetest “coming home” is when a soldier has returned from a deployment.

Just remember as Dorothy says “there’s no place like home”

Pinch Hitting For Pepper....

It really isn't my turn to do the blog post, my day was yesterday :0)

But Pepper, AKA Peppercorns2, is down with a bad headache and so....to prove I am a kind and loving sister...I offered to do her post for her....LOL!

I had actually just finished putting together a treasury on Etsy,  I used to do a lot of treasuries but since there are now 23,680 treasuries I have kind of slacked off a bit!  However, I was surfing around Etsy and found a couple of items to put in my favs...

                              Calloohcallay

                           TeaWorksCottage

Side by side in my favorite items list they looked so good together that I could not resist curating a treasury around them...

Click on each of the items in the treasury below to be taken directly to the shop, or you can visit the treasury on Etsy here...

Now Here is a Fun Project for the Holidays!

Glitter Letter Tutorial from Miss MustardSeed on Vimeo.

                         Miss Mustard Seed

I have loved the look of glittered letters but never knew how to create them for myself...until I discovered Marian Parson's blog...Miss Mustard Seed (linked above).  WooHoo!  I am thinking of all kinds of projects I can use these on....especially at Christmas time....a banner..or gift tags...or maybe magnets....or cards....or.....the list goes on!

I also suggest you spend some time checking out other projects on her blog (like using painter's drop cloths as fabric!) and perusing the other shops and blogs found there...so many ideas...so little time!

Have fun :)
