LENT ~ What are you doing?

Lent was always a big deal when I was a kid. I dreaded the having to give up something and would usually choose to give up candy or sweets. Basically, it seemed like a time of having to give up something which we loved dearly, but it also can be a time we DO things to improve our lives and help others. I still am going to give up candy, but I also plan on trying to become a better person in little ways.

Lent is a season of soul-searching and repentance. It is a season for reflection and taking stock. Lent originated in the very earliest days of the Church as a preparatory time for Easter, when the faithful rededicated themselves and when converts were instructed in the faith and prepared for baptism. By observing the forty days of Lent, the individual Christian imitates Jesus’ withdrawal into the wilderness for forty days. All churches that have a continuous history extending before AD 1500 observe Lent. The ancient church that wrote, collected, canonized, and propagated the New Testament also observed Lent, believing it to be a commandment from the apostles.

Here are some items I found while looking for Lenten inspired art..

Now, I'm really going to miss this...

Now  some of you don't observe Lent which is fine, but if you were to choose to give up or do something differently in your lives for the next 40 days what would it be?

Happy Lent!

Thank you for including (cacao) - even if we're on the "don't-touch-that" list! Check out some of our Easter items to look forward to!

Inspiring post today gg...

While I think about what to give up, I'd like one of those candies from the cacaobakery. I don't think I could go 40 days without sweets though.

This is going to take some serious consideration. Not to be rushed into because once I decide, I know I have to stick to it.

That's great about your item selling art! I noticed someone I knew put it in her favorites so you see...those circle things work. :)
