ONE LAST PLUG FOR THE MAGNIFICENT PUMPKIN

Wool pumpkins Autumn Halloween Thanksgiving

It's nearly Thanksgiving and almost time for us to say good-bye to the pumpkin.  I have been planning ahead though and now have seeds for three kinds of pumpkins for next year....peanut pumpkins, white pumpkins, and a mix of orange and white miniature pumpkins.  Hopefully, I'll have the best ever pumpkin patch...at least I'm optimistic at this point.

Before we leave the pumpkin season I'd like to feature a few of the most interesting takes on the pumpkin that I've found on Etsy.  This little gallery is my tribute.

Views From Our Truck Windows

We arrived home this evening after a 2 week  trip through California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana....want to see some of our favorite views from our truck windows?  The fall season is our best trip time of all!

The first thing we do is put pumpkins on our dashboard to celebrate the fall season of the year...they seem to set the perfect mood!

We drove from California to Montana but took pictures on the return trip and that is how we will show the trip to you, in reverse order...first up Libby, Montana....
A beautiful stream surrounded by mountains, pine trees and larches.....

or a close up of the trees....

From Montana we travel to the mountains of Idaho where rivers and farmland are tucked in the folds.

Traveling south on I95 takes us to the I90 west and into Spokane, Washington.....beautiful fall colors and a spectacular bridge over a river....incredible!

We love the look of this bridge but taking a photo of it from the window of a moving truck with cold wind blowing in was a challenge!

We turn south again in Ritzville, Washington and head down to Oregon, traveling along the Columbia River Gorge on the I84...heading West into the Portland, Oregon area....

about 30 miles out of Portland are the Multnomah Falls... luckily for us they have a big parking lot right in front of the falls....makes picture taking a lot easier....even in the poring rain!

Another turn south in the Portland area and another 300 miles of driving takes us into Northern California, and after about 100 miles we find Shasta Lake

More photos from the window of a moving truck....cold weather but beautiful scenery....

What a trip, we love the NorthWest portion of our great country....in any season...but Fall is really the best time of all...VE

Fall has arrived… (again *sigh*)

Last year I picked up a few of these cool papier-mâché pumpkin ornaments.
(with an idea in mind of course)

I was all excited and got right to work on them.
First I cut out an opening just how I wanted it.  I then gathered some different  shades of orange tissue papers to cover them.

I picked out the images I wanted to use to decorate them with, had everything ready to go.....

and then……….

the next thing I knew, Halloween had passed, so I set them aside.
Now a whole year has gone by and my little unfinished pumpkins sadly sat in a box…..
I have brought them out and renewed my goal to get them done this year.
But now what will they become?
I still have the original idea in my head, but …..will they be what I first planned or will they turn into something else? I have gotten some other ideas in my head for them now, but I need un-cut ones for that.  Hmm, maybe I will have to pick up a few more.
While I am at it, I had picked up these little plastic pumpkins (last year also…*sigh*)
and I think they need a little up-cycling themselves….

Maybe if you come back and check up on me I will post pictures of the finished products. (plus if I know somebody is watching, well.... I will have to get them done)
