Sunrise ~ Sunset

I love sunrises and sunsets.  Now, there are some people that know me well enough to wonder how I can say I love sunrises, when I never really wake up that early.  Well, let’s just say that I’ve seen a few and leave it at that.  But whether early morning or late afternoon, one of the most beautiful sights is how the sun, sky and scenery come together in a beautiful display of light.  Whether over the ocean, between mountain peeks or simply riding on the horizon, nothing beats it.

Dandelion

It is that time of year when people start to fight the dandelions.

Ever since my kids were little I liked to let the dandelions grow so they could have the fun of making wishes and blowing the little seeds off in every direction.

Or they would play a game and see how far they could pop the heads off.

If you ever looked closely at the dandelion there is something very cheerful about it….it could be as simple as the color, or maybe that there are so many tiny little petals that it looks fuzzy.

Whatever it is, I kind of like this little annoyance and they add a nice bright spot in an otherwise boring green expanse of grass.

Okay, maybe you would rather enjoy the view of dandelions in someone else’s yard, but you have to admit they are fun…and can any of you say you never blew the dandelion fluff away? (never ever????)

Bad hair day

                                       

Did you ever have one of those days and you know you should just crawl back into bed and hide? Doesn’t it seem that sometimes those days actually stretch into a week or longer?

This week has been ones of “those days”. If something could go wrong it did, but I have gotten out of bed each day and muddled through.

Yesterday as I was taking my daughter to work as the sun was starting to set. There was one wispy cloud in the sky that really caught our attention. This little cloud lit up brilliantly on one side, the colors and brightness were just amazing.  It was so unusual my daughter even asked me if that was normal. I had never seen anything like it before and was really glad that I had gotten out of bed that day.

Sometimes the simplest things in life can make your day...

Escape For Just a Moment

Ever have one of those days where you want to jump in the car and drive?  Doesn’t really matter where you’re going, as long as the view is nice?  Well, I love to drive, love to take in some of creations beauty, soak in the colors, landscapes and right now, life is just too busy to do that.  So what does a person do?  The next best thing!  Sit in front of a computer and search out as many beautiful nature scenes as possible.  Whether they are real places or in the creative minds of some talented artists, I invite you to take a deep breath with me, and let’s enjoy today.

Snow days

 Snow days…I love the snow.

I like the quiet and peacefulness when it is falling, the sparkles when the sun comes out and shines on it.

I love taking a walk while it is snowing at night. (as long as you avoid the snowplows)

It seems like this year we are getting fresh snowfall every few days. This is okay with me. It keeps the snow looking nice and clean. It doesn’t seem to take long at all for the snow to get all dingy and dirty from all the cars.
