what the flock?

I was going to start with Nativities, but thought I would have a little fun and start with some flocked Christmas animals. This first one was picked with a certain someone in mind...(they know who they are)

Now I am moving onto some Nativities. My mom always put out her hand-carved Anri Nativity. She started with just a few of the major pieces and each year my father would add to her collection. All of them were carved beautifully, but the animals always kept my attention. Here are a couple of animals that once again caught my eye.
I don't know what it is about this donkey, but I just love it.

This camel seems to have some attitude (which I also love)

Whatever your taste, you can find just about anything that will meet your needs.

So now we have wreaths done and table settings, nativities and some flocked animals thrown in for good measure......I wonder what will come next...? I guess if you really want to know you will have to check in tomorrow and Friday to find out. (I am sure it will be interesting)

hmmm, maybe next week we will post some of our favorite Christmas recipes....maybe not

have a good one.

Okay, so I messed up and am a bit late posting today.....

Well, I have no excuse other than I completely forgot that yesterday was Tuesday and therefore today would be Wednesday and my day to post....sorry.

I have picked out a few of my favorites from the others that are a part of this collective Journal. For one reason or another these items struck me as something I wanted to show off.

 these are from Vintage Station
This next two are from Peppercorns2

Here are some beauties from DoodleVintagePlus

Of course I have to include another horsey item from MySeriousSide

and last but not least two items from VintageEmbellishment  (and I am sure she can figure out why I picked furnace part)

If you click on each picture it should take you directly to that item, if you click on the names it will take you to their Etsy shops.

Thank you for your patience and I hope you enjoy.

THE WONDERFUL FELTED PURSE

My new passion is the felted purse, not for me to make because I believe they are beyond my abilities, but to look at, enjoy, and some day to purchase.  They are so beautiful and the artists who create them have such talent and imagination.  In my many random searches I have found that there is also a wide variety of designs.  To create the felted purse is not an easy, quick little hobby.  It takes extreme patience,  perseverance, dedication, hours of work, and a focus on the end result.

Here are some of the very talented artists who are creating these little masterpieces of  useful art:

Knitted and felted Turquoise Purse

Plain Jane Plum Poppy - Made to Order

Dragonfly Felted Wool Handbag

Rose flower gold, black felted purse

Robin bird in a nest blue, rust felted purse

The Beverly Bag

Hand Knit Felted Lucy Bag Raspberry

If you would like to felt your own purse, here's a shop that for $5.00 offers a wide assortment of patterns.

And Poof! The Ugly Frog Becomes Adorable!

In my humble opinion it takes a really talented person to take the ugly frog, (and they are ugly admit it,) and turn it into the cutest, most adorable reptile in the swamp.

I took an unquided tour through the swamplands of Etsy, Artfire, and Zibbet to find the best of the best. If you ever had the absurd thought that artists and crafters don't have a fantastic sense of humor, just cruise through the gallery I have put together for your pleasure and I guarantee you'll change your mind.

Etsy shops just starting out.

Howdy ho,
We used to do this all the time ~  look for shops with little or no sales and help them out by creating treasuries around them or even purchasing an item to help make their day and offer a bit of encouragement.
There's some great new artists appearing most every day and here are some I found just recently...

Beautiful tiles from Ammielou

Check this out ~ recycled garbage bags! This one made with Dollar General bags from Pickleme

Knotcards which are new to me, but really fun! This one is my favorite for some reason...by bysharonmarie

You could spend hours looking and it never ceases to amaze me what people come up with and the talent that is abundant in our world!

Sending everyone all that is good,

Valentine's Day

Hard to believe that January has already been here for a couple of weeks now…soon February will be upon us, and with that Valentine’s Day.
(for some reason it seemed when I was younger that the days passed more slowly…or is that just my age talking)
Anyway, I did a little looking around about Valentines Day, found some interesting sites, and then some that, well…um…I am not going to mention or post here.
This one gives the history of Valentine’s Day and is geared towards children, (so it is safe to look at)
VintageEmbellishment

 Then I thought of how many craft ideas there are for people to make if they so desire. This site seems to cover a large variety, for kids and adults;

SilkAndThistle
Of course I know some people don’t want to make anything and would rather buy items, so here are some vintage and handmade things.
The following is a little bit of this and that. Things that caught my eye. There are tons of great items out there, so when you have a little time search around, have fun.
