I was wandering through Etsy the other night putting items that caught my eye into my favorites file...I love to go look at all of them as a group and see if anything POPS!
Well when industrial decor items sit next to modern decor items....things POP!

Things that make my heart beat faster...
Every now and then I come across an item that makes my heart rate go up several beats per minute...
And some day....well you most likely know the end of that phrase!

The serenity on the face of this architectural fragment makes me sigh with contentment, what a pleasure it would be to look at this every day.

We have sold vintage and antique miniature bowling sets for several years but I have never seen one like this before....I am afraid this would have to be a "keeper"...it would be wonderful no matter where it was displayed!

Lately, antique and vintage Industrial items have been tugging at my heart..just look at this amazing light.
I am thinking this would have to be another "keeper"!
When I find items that combine storage with the Industrial look my heart rate really goes up...imagine all the treasures this unit would hold..
Something else I am partial too is baskets, old Industrial Storage baskets...like this one...
I could store lots of stuff in this basket!

The XYZ of Industrial Decor
One of the newest decorating trends is "Industrial Decor"...but what is it?????
Industrial Decor uses items from factories and schools, medical facilities, churches, farms and shops to create a decorating theme using functional vintage items. The well worn stools, tables, office furniture, wastebaskets, lighting, storage units and miscellaneous items from industry fit the criteria perfectly.
Their chief characteristic is that they were designed to do a job -- sturdiness, function and durability were the hallmarks of these items, and therein lies their charm. A little bit of rust??? Just makes the item better!
I went looking on the internet for items that would be perfect for adding a touch of Industrial flavor to the decor of a home....I found so many wonderful items on Etsy that I created a treasury about them :) Click on the name below the treasury to visit the treasury..
I also looked around Zibbet and was pleased to find some interesting things there too...Including Industrial prints for your walls.
