There's A New Man At My House!

And his name is Herbie :)

My husband was with me when I found Herbie and even tho he was not really excited about me bringing a new man home with us....He has grown quite fond of Herbie himself!

When Herbie first arrived at our home, he checked out the living conditions....

Introduced himself to some of the others who live with us (Dude this one's for you :)

Investigated some small spaces....

Even managed to get himself into a tight situation!  This one required a rescue...just saying...

He was starting to get bored so I put him to work as my prop person in some of  my photos for our shop...

I guess I overworked him because the other day I found him like this!!!!!  OH NO!!!!

We immediately sent him off on a bus trip for a nice relaxing vacation...And he gets to drink all the tea he wants...but now he says he needs some scones, strawberries and clotted cream....sigh...

He is supposed to be back from vacation soon, I wonder what his next adventure will be ???  Men can be so exhausting!

The LIbrary

I have always loved going to the Library, especially when I was younger, well... a lot younger!

The Library

I  loved everything about the library, the smell, the BOOKS, the date stamp and the card for when the book was due back, looking books up in the card file, even the Librarian...who was always ready to help me find just the right books :)

I think this is one of the reasons I love typography, words, books and reading...I really do LOVE to read!  I am always on the lookout for interesting books and have a "few" in my mini library here at my home.  In fact one of my newly discovered "treasures" is a 1930's book of printer's fonts!

I hope this memory treasury brings back wonderful memories for you too!

If you click on each of the items in the grouping above, you will be taken directly to the item in the shop....If you click on The Library  you will be taken to the treasury.

Child's Play

                                                Somethingcharming

As an Antique dealer I have always been intrigued by old and well loved children's toy....Especially in this day and age when kids seem to want something to entertain them instead of using their imaginations to create their own magical world....A world filled with dolls.....or Books....

And I think a child who never knows the joy of hugging a Teddy Bear is a child who is missing out on a special part of their childhood....

I remember my children crawling around on the floor pushing toys or making animals growl (I have heard that crawling stimulates the learning centers of the brain), their imaginations hard at work....

And Last but not Least   The Clown.....and it is a beanbag!  double the fun..... I think if more children had clown beanbags to play with there would be a lot fewer adults afraid of clowns!

I hope you enjoyed our journey down memory lane and I also hope...you take the video games away and give the kids a real toy...one that will challenge their imagination....
