Decorating Your Home For Christmas

                  Shiny Brite Wreath

Last week we decorated the Christmas tree...I know, I know, I started at the top which kinda created a problem for the others who needed to actually stand the tree up and put the other ornaments on.... So today I will start at the front door....with a wreath :)

Actually, my wreath is hanging over our fireplace....but the front door seems like such a welcoming idea!

I found lots of wonderful wreaths and some of them are suitable to leave hanging up in your home all year long....like this one!
A beautiful wreath created from pages of a book...

                       Book Wreath

I would leave this next one up all year long also, although it was created as a Christmas wreath it would be a fabulous decor item for a home, especially if you are using the trendy gray colors as part of your decorating scheme...don't you think this would be lovely hanging against a gray wall??

White and Gray Felt Christmas Wreath

For those of you with children, how happy would this look hanging in their room...or the family room :)  And if you want to gift it to someone it comes in a pizza box...that can be decorated...how fun is that!

                   Crayon Wreath

Need something for the man cave?  Look at this!

              Shotgun Shell Wreath

You want a vintage wreath you say???  Well OK, how about these :)

       Bottle Brush Christmas Wreath

           Red Bottle Brush Wreath

And last but certainly not least...if your house has an elegance about it, these would be perfect....2 tiny vintage wreaths...

        Small Silver Bottlebrush Wreaths

Or one newly created from vintage mercury glass ornaments...although if you want one like this you will need to place your order...for NEXT year...that's how popular these are!

To view any of these...and the shops they are in...please click on the name below each photo...

Hope you have a great time decorating...check in each day to see what other treasures have been found for you....we love to shop...especially with someone else's money :)

Time for Lights and Garland

Well, here we are, end of the week and the final stage of decorating the Christmas tree.  What’s missing?  Lights and Garland!!!  Well, as you know, we sort of did our tree a little backwards, but we ‘re sure when you get ready to decorate your tree, you will start with the stand and tree, then go from there.

It’s hard to pick just a few shops with lights and garland when there is so much, but here are some old and some new, some traditional and some contemporary.  And some that bring back great childhood memories for me.  So let’s get started ~ let’s add some lights to our tree.  (just click the names under the photo to go to their shops)

Ribbons and Retro
And don’t forget the spare bulbs

Albrechts Antiques
Kiffys
VintageGoodness1
Holiday Legacies
Industrial Days
Just Too Much
And now for some garland

Roque Valley Vintage
Christmas Notions
Mrs Molly
Cutie Popper
The Old Block House
Harts Closet
Treasured Memory Lane
And if you don’t want to have real lights, how about some felted lights!
I thought this was pretty cool.

Purl and June
Last but not least and NOT for sale, some garland made from paper beads.  The beads were made by RWS by the way ~ a great combination of Christmas colors.  (click her name to visit her shop)  And the garland strung by me ~ my attempt at being “creative”.

Just goes to show that anyone can get a little creative if they really want to,
and with a little push from a friend.  lol

Hope you enjoyed our “Decorate the Tree” week.
Rumor has it we’re doing a little more
Christmas next week so don’t forget to check in and see what the crew is up to.

Thanks for stopping by,
now go get to work on that tree of yours!

I'm doing tree ornaments this week!!  I never realized just how many are available these days.  I've decided to show some of my favorite ones or this post will go on for days!
First, I found this wonderful article about Shiny Brites glass ornaments I wanted to share:
 Sheila Zeller Interiors
Great blog and great article!
Some that have became an instant favorite for me!
These are new ones currently for sale.

These are vintage ones.
These are called spinners.  The heat from lights cause the insides of these to spin around.  I wasn't aware of these until I started looking for items for this post and now I will definitely keep my eyes open while antique shopping!

(click on photos to be taken to listings or shops)

How cute are these?  Pixie tree ornaments!
From Sammithesheepishlion on Etsy:

From Bayberry Cove, here's a set of two candle clips!  I love these, too!

Again, these can be found in both new and vintage!
Another favorite, mercury glass figural ornaments!  So many of them!  I think my favorite is the pickle (not shown).  Here's a listing from
DustyAtticTreasures on Etsy:

Must have icicles!  How about some vintage ones?  Here you go!
  From HartsCloset:

And foil ornaments!
 From TheVintageResource:

Oh look!  I found the pickle!  Good luck to all who find it!
Do you have favorite ones not mentioned here?  Let us know what they are!
Have a great day!
